Your training is going so well – now it’s time to activate your RV’s gyro sensor! This clever sensor is built inside your SPIKE Prime hub so you can’t see it. The gyro sensor can measure the angle that your RV turns to the right or left! This makes turning much more precise – great!
We will be using the term ‘YAW angle’ – a positive YAW angle turns the RV right and a negative YAW angle turns it left.

On the next slide there is an image of an example program that will get your RV TURNING using the gyro sensor. Write this program on the SPIKE Prime App and run it. Did your RV respond as you expected? Think about what impact the YAW angle has on your RV.

How would you turn your robot 90 degrees to the left using the gyro sensor? Why is this method of turning more accurate than the one you learnt in Training Session 2?
